Tourist facility that combat desertification and foster local economic development
Strengths: The project is the first attempt of its kind to test how a tourist facility could also act as an anti desertification barrier while promoting economic and social development. A local NGO will be running the project and reinvesting in tree planting and educational activities related to environmental issues with the benefits. Besides, the hotel will host a cultural center where new forms of craft will be investigated. Preliminary construction has started!
Difficulties: It has many experts and collaborators involved, making decision making and the project's construction a bit lengthy.
Extra information: We have volunteered out time and skills to this project, like all the other partners. We would like to sincerely thank everyone involved that has believed in the project from the start. We are in the process of collecting more funds to build more rooms for the project.
