Strengths: -Integration in the context -Not a fake repetition of Chinese architecture, but a modern review of the traditional features -Protection of residents: maintenance of the population on site
Difficulties: -Dealing and understanding a different culture -Changing some design groundwork after visiting Beijing
Extra information: We are students from the “UNIVPM”,Ancona,Italy, faculty of Engineering and Architecture. We worked on this design project located in Beijing, China. We went to Beijing, where we spent some days working on a similar project with students of “BUCEA”: we took part in the "Sino-Italian Workshop on Knowledge and Architectural Design" with "Embassy of Italy". That helped us to understand the problems of the site and the lives of the people living in there, their needs, their expectations.
