Housing and development of urban spaces for community and educational purposes
Strengths: The main objective to provide means and knowledge for the correct development of housing in Mozambique. This is not only a housing project but also an urban definition in the effort of improving conditions in Chimpaca agglomerate. To be ecologically sustainable, valuing the ecosystems and the building processes; To be economically viable; To be evolutionary, to accompany the natural course of families and communities;
Difficulties: Financing has been the main impediment to progress as well as the lack of infrastructures in urban growth. Human resources are scarce in administrative services. There are few legislative guide lines so we have to propose new ones without knowing if they are going to be accepted by central powers. Other hard barrier to transpose: to persuade government officials to integrate new houses with new urban public spaces in order to recognize the importance of community living.
